I think the thing annoys me about this more than anything is that the Games Industry, which I work in, currently has a problem with junior roles.
It is exceptionally difficult to find a large studio willing to hire someone with no industry experience, it’s often the case that a large studio won’t be hiring junior roles at all.
So there’s no new talent being cultivated. And the game industry needs that talent to evolve and survive!
First drafts of NPC dialogue is 100% something that junior writers would be able to do. It is incredibly frustrating that large studios are creating tools to cut down roles.
I would argue that foregoing new junior candidates in favour of these tools goes against ethical game development.
